JAMES HUSTON, Writer, Actor, Producer

James has been an actor and writer for nearly three decades. In addition to extensive stage experience, including two years Off-Broadway, he has been before the camera over a thousand times, appearing in many film and television projects, commercials, and industrials. He is President of Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Houston, and national board member of American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). He teaches in the film and theater department at Rice University. He studied playwriting with Edward Albee, and his film script, Suitable for Framing, was a 2007 Nicholl Fellowship finalist. He is also the recipient of a two Excellence Awards from ABC Talent Development Group for his film scripts, The Positive, and Beyond Words.

KEVIN RIGDON, Production Designer

Kevin is the recipient of many awards, including two 1990 Tony nominations for The Grapes of Wrath; as Best Scenic Designer and Best Lighting Designer. In addition to serving as Professor of Design at the University of Houston, he is the associate director/design for the Alley Theatre, where he has created designs for numerous productions. He has also designed for many Broadway shows, including the acclaimed productions of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and Glengarry Glen Ross. In addition to extensive work Off-Broadway and London, he was the resident designer for Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago for more than 110 productions, and has designed for The Kennedy Center, American Repertory Theatre, The Goodman Theatre, The Festival of Perth, The Festival of Sydney, and The Cameri Theatre of Tel-Aviv, among others. Film and television credits include Superwomen Central for PBS; Ricky Jay and His 52 Assistants for HBO; The Grapes of Wrath for Vanguard Films; and Our Town for Theatre In America.

TRISH RIGDON, Production Designer

In addition to serving as the Director of Theatre at Rice University, Trish worked as Associate Director/Producer and Production Designer with Sir Peter Hall’s Company for three years. Her many productions include the national tour of The Importance of Being Earnest with Lynn Redgrave. In addition to extensive directing experience, she designed lighting for Texas Contemporary Dance Initiative, City Dance Company (Miller, Houston 2000 - 2005), the Chrysalis Dance, and assisted in the lighting design of such productions as One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (Broadway, Barbican, and Steppenwolf, Chicago); American Buffalo (Off-Broadway, Donmar Warehouse, London); Top Dog/Underdog (Steppenwolf Theatre/Alley Theatre co-production Houston and Dallas). As a Costume Designer she designed for Waiting for Godot, Much Ado About Nothing, Man and Superman, Galilieo's Daughter, Don Juan (Peter Hall Company, Theatre Royal Bath) Open House/Open Book (Rice University with Choreographer Stephen Koplowitz), and Chrysalis Dance Company.
